President Rouhani officially welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday in Sa’dabad Cultural Complex in Tehran.
After the national anthem of Iran and China were played, both presidents introduced the members of their accompanying high-level delegations to each other.
The Chinese President is set to have a meeting with President Rouhani. The high-raking officials of both countries will also sit down for talks.
Developing and deepening mutual, regional, and international ties, and also expansion of relations in areas such as politics, economy, trade, and culture between Iran and Beijing are amongst the objectives of President Xi Jinping’s trip to Iran.
The Chinese President arrived in Tehran Friday night as the head of a high-ranking political and economic delegation and was received by Foreign Minister Zarif at Mehrabad Airport.
