President in a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan:

Iran-Kyrgyzstan joint commission should become more active/Private sectors should be encouraged for cooperation

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran met with the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan and emphasised Iranian and Kyrgyz authorities’ effort to further develop ties and cooperation between the two countries using all their capabilities and opportunities.

Speaking in Bishkek on Friday, Dr Rouhani referred to cooperation documents signed between the two counties and added that Iran-Kyrgyzstan joint commission should become more active.

We attach great weight to our ties with our neighbouring countries in Central Asia, especially Kyrgyzstan, said Rouhani adding that cooperation should develop in line with interests of the two nations.

He also stressed facilitating visa issuance and development of banking relations and financial exchange between Iran and Kyrgyzstan adding: “Private sectors of both countries should be encouraged for more cooperation”.

“Iran-Kyrgyzstan joint commission should become more active,” continued the President, mentioning close political and cultural relations between the two countries.

Referring to Iranian companies’ willingness to provide Kyrgyzstan with technical and engineering services, he said: “Today, Iranian companies are taking part in international tenders and implement various plans at a reasonable price and with high-quality”.

Security of the countries of the region is very important for the Islamic Republic of Iran, said the President. He added: “Today, terrorism is a great threat for the region and Iran is ready to provide its friend countries in the region with its experiences in combatting terrorism, extremism and drugs”.

“Those who are committing crimes and violence in the region and the world under the disguise of Islam do not have any connection with Islam,” he added.

At the same meeting, the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Sooronbay Jeenbekov also referred to close ties between Iran and Kyrgyzstan, adding: “The two governments are determined to further develop ties and cooperation in all fields and we will do whatever we can to quickly implement agreements and pacts”.

He also said that Kyrgyzstan was determined to deepen ties with Iran in various fields such as energy and agriculture.
