President in a meeting with scholars, veterans and elites of Yazd province:

Iran’s current independence, honour indebted to martyrs’ self-sacrifice, veterans/Gov’t realisation of people’s resolve/We all should join hands in using post-JCPOA opportunities

President Rouhani met with scholars, veterans and elites of Yazd province and said that Iran’s current independence and honour is indebted to self-sacrifice of martyrs and veterans.

In this meeting which happened late on Monday in Yazd, Dr Rouhani said: “War veterans are great examples of patience, resistance, and resilience of Iran and the government is trying to provide the great families of martyrs and war veterans with more extensive services “.

“We could manage the difficult situations of year 1394 with people’s patience and resistance, as well as experts and officials despite the sharp decline in oil revenues” added Rouhani.

He also stressed the need to foster hope in the society and among people saying: “In the past year, we could successfully resolve the nuclear case. The nuclear negotiation team did a great job to stand up for people’s rights”.

On the new opportunities, he also said: “We should get ready for carrying out bigger measures in the country and in doing so, we expect experts and elites to help the government on this path by hard work and capital”.

“Yazd province can have successful and pioneering roles in environment, industry, and agriculture” continued President Rouhani.

He also said: “We should make ourselves readier for more activity and boosting the economy”.

In another part of his speech, Dr Rouhani thanked the Iranian nation for their ardent turnout in the elections.
