Iran’s responsible approach to ceasefire secures regional stability: President Pezeshkian

President Pezeshkian made the remarks in a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday. The two sides discussed the recent ceasefire between Iran and the United States, as well as strategies for establishing sustainable security in the region following recent US-Israeli aggression against Iran.

The Iranian president emphasized that Iran’s acceptance of the ceasefire demonstrates a responsible approach aimed at fostering regional stability and preventing the expansion of conflicts.

President Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for Turkey’s solidarity and its condemnation of the unjust aggression by the US and the Israeli regime.

Pointing to a betrayal of diplomacy by the US in previous negotiation rounds, the president also urged the international community and Islamic nations to unite against Israeli warmongering and press for an end to conflicts on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon.

In response, President Erdogan expressed his satisfaction with the halt in hostilities and reaffirmed Ankara’s unwavering solidarity with the Iranian nation. Offering condolences for the Iranian citizens martyred in recent events, he conveyed his well wishes to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.

The Turkish president condemned Israeli military actions as a blatant violation of international law, stressing the necessity of holding the regime accountable for its aggressions. He also emphasized the importance of maximizing international diplomatic efforts, stating that Israel must not be permitted to disrupt the negotiation process through its actions.
