Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that the ongoing US-Israeli aggression against Iran has only strengthened the Iranian nation’s determination to defend its sovereignty.
In a phone call, President Pezeshkian described the attack as a cowardly act, asserting it proves that the main source of regional insecurity is the presence of foreign forces.
The Iranian president stressed that the massive public support following the assault demonstrates Iran’s resilience against the lies and treachery of the US and Israeli regimes.
He clarified that Iran’s targeting of US bases in neighboring countries was a purely defensive measure to protect its people and territory.
The president also rejected claims of attacks on the Republic of Azerbaijan, calling them enemy conspiracies aimed at damaging fraternal relations. He reiterated Tehran’s stance that regional security must be provided by regional nations alone.
President Putin offered deep condolences for the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and emphasized the need for regional stability, noting his own contacts with leaders of the [Persian] Gulf Cooperation Council.
Both presidents agreed to continue close diplomatic and security coordination between Tehran and Moscow, with president Pezeshkian urging Russia to use its international leverage to support Iran’s rights against the enemies’ violations.
