President Masoud Pezeshkian said resolving disputes through diplomacy has always taken priority over war for the Islamic Republic, stressing that conflict would benefit neither Iran, the United States, nor the wider region.
In a phone conversation late Saturday with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el‑Sisi, President Pezeshkian underlined Iran’s firm commitment to the formation of diplomatic processes and the pursuit of dignified diplomacy based on equality and free from threats. He said the Islamic Republic hopes the other side has come to understand that pressure and coercion cannot force Tehran into negotiations.
Pezeshkian expressed appreciation for the sincere, responsible, and brotherly efforts of Islamic countries to help reduce regional tensions and support Iran. He reaffirmed Iran’s principled foreign policy of strengthening internal cohesion while working consistently to deepen friendly relations with neighboring and Islamic countries.
Referring to actions by the United States and the Israeli regime aimed at escalating hostilities, imposing wars, maintaining pressure and sanctions, and inciting unrest inside Iran, the president stressed that Tehran has never sought war and does not seek it now.
While emphasizing that any aggression or attack on Iranian territory would be met with a decisive and powerful response, Pezeshkian said that Iran continues to prioritize the peaceful settlement of issues through diplomacy conducted in a calm and constructive atmosphere.
For his part, the Egyptian president welcomed the conversation and expressed his wishes for peace, stability, and security for the ancient nation of Iran and all regional peoples.
He said there is no military solution to regional crises, warning that any escalation would have negative consequences for the entire region.
El‑Sisi added that Egypt will continue efforts to reduce tensions and stands ready to support diplomatic initiatives aimed at strengthening regional stability.
