President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the need to repair the Rab’-e Rashidi Scientific, Cultural, and Historical Complex to highlight Iran’s historical glory and enhance its scientific status.
The president made these remarks during a meeting with the board of trustees of the Rab’-e Rashidi Scientific, Cultural, and Historical Complex on Tuesday, where they discussed strategies to renovate the ancient academic and cultural center in Tabriz, Iran, which dates back to the early 14th century.
Highlighting the unique position of Rab’-e Rashidi in Iran’s civilization, Pezeshkian stated that renovating this complex is an important step in repairing the scientific and cultural identity of the country.
He noted that it is a source of pride for the Iranian nation that nearly 750 years ago, a grand complex was a pioneer in knowledge, featuring a library, a translation center, industrial facilities, and a financial system, all actively contributing to scientific advancement in seven languages.
The Rab’-e Rashidi complex serves as a shining example of a knowledge-based system, not only in education and skill development but also in moral excellence, wealth generation, and the resolution of societal issues, he added.
President Pezeshkian called for preparing a plan for the complex and transforming the historic site into an academic museum, while ensuring that operators avoid public dissatisfaction during the renovation process.
