Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the Islamic Republic is not seeking nuclear weapons, noting that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei clearly prohibited the use of nukes and other weapons of mass destruction.

Iran has no plans to attain nuclear weapons, says President Pezeshkian

President Pezeshkian made the comments in Tehran on Thursday while addressing envoys from foreign countries and international organizations during a ceremony to commemorate the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory.

The president said that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has repeatedly inspected Iran’s nuclear sites, and the country welcomes further inspections, as it has no intention to acquire nuclear weapons.

Pezeshkian argued that the Islamic Republic does not want war, and that its doctrine completely rejects the massacre of innocent people under any circumstances. He added that verifying Iran’s intentions regarding its nuclear program should not be difficult.

He also expressed Iran’s desire for friendly relations with all countries represented at the ceremony, highlighting that collective efforts can contribute to global peace.

The president also criticized the Zionist regime for propagating false claims against Iran while engaging in aggression against regional states. He pointed out that the supporters of this regime claim it is acting in self-defense, but it seeks to displace Palestinians from their homeland.

Regarding the role of Western media outlets, Pezeshkian condemned their propaganda campaigns against the Islamic Republic, as the Zionist regime has killed nearly 14,000 children in Gaza and destroyed hospitals.

He concluded that global peace can only be achieved when the rights of all individuals are respected, noting that justice, fairness, equality, brotherhood, and friendship are essential for tranquility—not war and bloodshed.
