Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has appointed Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Mahmoud Alavi as his special aide and head of Council of Ethnic, Religious and Sectarian Affairs.
The president appointed the cleric to the post in a decree he issued on Thursday.
While appointing Alavi as his special aide, President Pezeshkian said that the council, which is made up of representatives from different ethnic, religious and sectarian groups, is formed to help progress the government’s missions and goals.
