In a meeting with the members of the national football team, the President said, "The efforts of the national team on the field are among the achievements that can strengthen the unity and empathy of the great nation of Iran and defeat the enemies".
Speaking on Monday afternoon at the send-off ceremony of the national football team for the participation and honouring of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi appreciated the efforts of the technical staff for the preparation of this team, and said, "Motivation and courage are the most important characteristics of Iranian athletes on various fields".
The President continued addressing the players of the national football team and added, "Now that the Almighty God has given you the great blessing and honour of wearing the uniform of the national football team of the Islamic Republic of Iran due to your hard work and dedication, seize this opportunity with redoubled efforts to make the Iranian nation happy".
Dr Raisi called trust in God Almighty as the key to success and victory in difficult fields and stated, "When you make the hearts of the Iranian people and the Islamic Iran your goal, as well as the honour and pride of this country, you must know that God Almighty will not withhold His care and support from you".
The President continued by pointing out that the blood of hundreds of thousands of martyrs was shed on the ground to raise the proud flag of this country and to make the name of Iran proud in the world.
Dr Raisi stated that those who do not want to see the victory and success of Iranian youth are seeking to disrupt your focus and said, "Be extremely careful in this regard. Don't let any current or issue disturb your focus and spend all your determination and efforts to make your country proud".
Pointing out that the enemies and ill-wishers intend to make the victories and successes of our nation bitter, the President added, "The effort of the national team on the field of competition is one of the achievements that can strengthen the unity and empathy of the great nation of Iran and fail the enemies".
Emphasising that the government's support for the national football team as well as all the athletes and heroes of Islamic Iran, is definite and certain, Dr Raisi asked them to convey his warm greetings to the other members who will be added to the national team in Qatar.
At the end, the President sent off the national team with the prayer that, God willing, with your steely will, the Iranian nation will receive successive victories and successes.
