Dr Raisi visits Qaleh Ji village, Kurdistan

The President visited Qaleh Ji village in Sarvabad County of Kurdistan province and listening to the words and problems of the people of the village, which was subjected to a chemical attack in the last months of the Sacred Defence period, and issued orders to solve the problems of these people.

In the first part of the Popular Administration’s travel plans to Kurdistan province on Friday morning, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi visited the village of Qaleh Ji in Sarvabad County of the province and met and talked with the people of the village face-to-face.
In the last months of the Sacred Defence era, the village of Qaleh Ji was the target of a chemical attack by the Iraqi Baathist regime several times with a total of 11 bombs, which resulted in the martyrdom of more than 25 people and about 300 wounded.
During the chemical bombardment of Qaleh Ji village, many people from villages closer to the border and even from Iraqi Kurdistan took shelter in this village, where they were subjected to chemical attacks.
The people of Qaleh Ji village, who were facing many problems due to the effects of these chemical attacks in the past 25 years, expressed their problems and concerns after seeing the President in the village, and after hearing their words, the President gave orders to follow up on the requests of the people and issued a orders to solve the problems of the residents of the village and the surrounding areas that were attacked by chemical weapons.
Ayatollah Raisi also visited the house of one of the martyrs of the chemical attacks in this village and met with the family of the martyr.
