Referring to the role and position of governor generals in the country, Dr Raisi said, "The main responsibility for achieving 8% economic growth in the first place lies with the governor generals."
Speaking in a meeting with governor generals across the country on Monday, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi called for a serious change in the administration of the country for the benefit of the people and stated, "The first step is to know exactly the status quo".
Ayatollah Raisi emphasised that the basis of the government's activity is change, noting, "Today, problems cannot be solved with a normal approach and action, and overcoming the obstacles and problems ahead requires a jihadist movement".
Dr Raisi stated, "Today, 40 years after the establishment of the Islamic Republic, if we want to see what path the Islamic Revolution has taken and where it should go, the best document and guide for us is the Declaration of the Second Step of the Revolution".
Emphasising that all executive departments of the country should be together and sympathetic in order to achieve a noticeable change in people's lives, Dr Raisi added, "Governor generals are the highest executive positions in the provinces and are trusted by the entire system".
Dr Raisi said, "The main responsibility for achieving 8% economic growth in the first place lies with the governor generals."
Ayatollah Raisi stated, "The meeting of governor generals across the country is a great meeting in which you should categorise priorities and needs and resolve problems in talks with ministers and officials of different parts of the government".
The President described the holding of regular national meetings of governor generals with ministers and executive officials as very useful and effective in this regard.
Ayatollah Raisi added, "People should feel that the system of governing the country is efficient, and this feeling is not created by words and directives, but requires action".
Dr Raisi continued, "Have regular meetings with compassionate and concerned forces and elites and even those elites who are not associated with the government, and basically turn the continuous connection with the elite movement into one of the management manifestations in the Popular Government".
Dr Raisi further mentioned the fight against corona and taking care of people's livelihood as the country's priorities today and said, "If you encounter an issue or problem in the field of people's livelihood, take immediate action to solve it and do not even allow an hour of procrastination to occur".
"Do not allow any worker to be paid even for a day late," the president said, adding, "Especially on the new year's eve, be careful to pay the salaries on time".
The President also called on the governor generals to pay special attention to the fight against smuggling and the organisation of border markets.
