Stating that the government has no plans to increase petrol prices, the President said, "We are considering plans to make the distribution of petrol fair, which is currently being implemented on a trial and limited basis".
Speaking in the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom on Friday, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi thanked the previous governments, parliaments and managers for their efforts and said, "We took the office in special conditions and we had problems to pay the salaries but we paid them without borrowing from the Central Bank".
Explaining the government's efforts in the early months after it took office, the President added, "With the widespread vaccination, the death toll has now become double-digits, basic goods have been adequately stored, and oil sales have increased".
Dr Raisi considered the establishment of the "Bazargam" system as an effective and necessary step, and said, "Thank God, we have no shortage in the commodity market and good plans have been made to control prices".
The President announced the completion of semi-finished projects in the country as one of the most important goals of the 13th government and specified, "The only sector in which the government is allowed to start a new project is the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, which must implement the national housing plan according to law".
"We do not want to increase the price of petrol at all, but we are considering plans to justify the distribution of petrol quotas, which are currently being implemented on a trial and limited basis to evaluate the positive and negative effects," Dr Raisi said.
