Speaking on Saturday at the meeting of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, "Today, all the government's efforts are focused on purchasing vaccine, and we will provide the required vaccines as much as we can".

Emphasising the need to increase border surveillance, the President referred to the situation in Khuzestan province and the concentration of the country's red cities in this province and stated, "The operational headquarters of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus, has a heavy mission in Khuzestan province".

Dr Rouhani added, "According to the report presented in this meeting, the number of tests, disease detection and tracking of patients in Khuzestan has increased and restrictions have been imposed in order to achieve better conditions and prevent transmission to other provinces".

The President said that in the past year, very hard and busy days had passed on the country's medical staff, adding, "The medical staff did a very important job during this period and the Iranian nation has always been and will always be grateful to its servants in the field of health".

Referring to the arrival of Nowruz, Dr Rouhani added, "These days, as usual, there is a certain amount of social, cultural and even cleaning activities, and perhaps inevitably physical distancing is observed less".

"We all want to spend Nowruz peacefully and with the traditions associated with it," he said, adding, "If last year only one type of virus was identified, today mutated viruses have been identified, which has created more difficult conditions, and therefore it is necessary to follow health protocols more carefully".

The president said, "Coronavirus is a pandemic that if a country vaccinates 100% of its people against it, but if global safety is not established and all the people of the world are not vaccinated, travel between the people of countries can still cause the spread of the disease".

Dr Rouhani added, "We have no choice but to follow the protocols and at the same time as getting vaccinated".

Dr Rouhani stated, "In the current situation, border control should be done more carefully. We should not allow the outbreak of the mutated virus in Khuzestan to spread to other provinces".

Dr Rouhani added, "Of course, we must also keep in mind that the virus may have a specific mutation every day, which makes it more difficult to deal with".

The president stressed, "We have to continue the restrictions and this situation will probably continue for months, and maybe next year we will have to comply with the restrictions and punish the violators".

Dr Rouhani pointed out, "The government, along with efforts to implement protocols and security measures for the preparation and implementation of vaccinations, is trying to develop an electronic platform to provide services to the people as much as possible and faster".
