President at the meeting of the Committees of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus:

Responsible agencies should make every effort to prevent the fourth wave of COVID-19 in the country/ Health minister reports on the beginning of the second phase of vaccination

Following the report of the operational headquarters of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus on the increase in the number of red cities, especially in Khuzestan province, and warning signs about the new phase of the outbreak of the disease in the country, the President instructed all responsible agencies to make every effort to control the chain and fight the disease and prevent the fourth wave.

Speaking on Wednesday evening in the meeting of the heads of the eight committees of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus, Dr Hassan Rouhani stressed that with the cooperation and support of the people and the efforts and careful monitoring of all responsible agencies, the fourth wave should not be allowed happen.

Emphasising the importance of the measures taken in Khuzestan province, the President instructed the Ministry of Interior and the operational headquarters to submit reports of the measures taken to the National Task Force for cooperation with other agencies.

Dr Rouhani emphasised, "Regardless of the type of mutated or non-mutated virus, the utmost care must be taken to comply with health protocols, and early identification, increasing the number of tests and ensuring quarantine of patients are the basic principles in controlling the pandemic".

During the session, the Minister of Health and Medical Education reported on the beginning of the second phase of vaccination according to the national document, and the President stressed that the vaccination process should be accelerated despite the problems created by the enemies in the process of vaccination and funding.
