President at the meeting of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Board:

Emphasis on expediting compensation for Sisakht quake, temporary accommodation/ National Housing Action Plan gov’t key step to provide housing for low-, middle-income classes

The 205th meeting of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Board was held on Sunday morning, during which the Minister of Roads and Urban Development, who had travelled to Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province and the Sisakht earthquake-stricken area on behalf of the President, reported on the situation of the quake victims and the process of relief efforts and treatment for the injured, and temporary accommodation for families whose homes were damaged, as well as estimating the damage and planning to help rebuild ruined houses.

Following the report, the President stressed the need for immediate assistance to the quake victims, compensation, as well as the acceleration of the temporary accommodation of those whose homes were damaged in the quake due to the cold season in the area.

Referring to the report of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development on the latest status of the National Housing Action Plan, Dr Hassan Rouhani called this plan a great step of the Government of Prudence and Hope to provide housing for low- and middle-income classes.

Dr Rouhani described the provision of land required for the implementation of the National Housing Action Plan by the government as the strong point of this plan and added, "Fortunately, this plan has been well received and participated by the applicants and we hope that with proper planning, housing for all registrants will be ready and delivered on time.

The President pointed out that the land required for the construction of 260,000 units has been provided and the construction stages of the units are on track, adding, "The provincial distribution of projects, which is in line with the needs and executive projects, will become operational in Sistan and Baluchistan, Kerman and Yazd in the coming months”.

In this meeting, the Minister of Economy and Financial Affairs also presented a report on the amount of revenues specified in the Budget Law of year 1399, especially from tax collection, sale of bonds and income from exports.

In this regard, the President emphasised, "With the plans made this year, especially the measures that were foreseen in the budget of 1399, we were able to manage revenues and expenditures, and this was achieved in the conditions of economic war and maximum pressure of the Trump administration, which they admitted has failed”.

Referring to the realisation of the goals of this year's budget in the main area of ​​revenues and expenditures, Dr Rouhani said, "The government's macroeconomic programme for this year, which also includes the budget, was developed and implemented based on the facts and economic capacities of the country”.
