President at the meeting of the chairmen of the committees of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus:

Adherence to internationally accepted health standards regarding supply of COVID-19 vaccine, both domestic and foreign, is necessary/ Reviewing plans for continuing, expanding COVID-19 vaccination document

The plans for continuing and expanding the COVID-19 vaccination document were discussed at the Wednesday evening meeting of the heads of the specialised committees of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus chaired by President Dr Hassan Rouhani.

This programme includes the principles of medical ethics of vaccination, goals and different stages of scheduling based on receiving vaccine shipments, prioritising target groups and how to achieve goals, support and requirements for vaccination.

Referring to Iran's brilliant experiences in the field of vaccination against various diseases during the past decades, the President said, "Undoubtedly, using these experiences, we hope to achieve great success in the production, supply and implementation of vaccination of people against COVID-19".

Dr Rouhani added, "Although vaccination will be carried out by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, all other committees of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus and the operational headquarters, considering the different stages and complexities, sensitivities and high statistical population for vaccination, have specific missions and job descriptions to cooperate with the Health Committee".

The President called for the observance of internationally-accepted health standards regarding domestic and foreign vaccines and said, "The accepted standards must be observed in a way that maintains public trust and guarantees the health of the people".

In this meeting, Dr Rouhani also instructed the Advertising Committee to cooperated with the Health Committee, to put timely information and response and remove possible ambiguities on the agenda.

Referring to some statements regarding the production and purchase of vaccines, Dr Rouhani said, "Accepted and standard procedure based on global experience apply not only in the field of vaccination and treatment of diseases such as COVID-19 but in all areas related to people's health".

The President added, "In this regard, even the countries that have now achieved the COVID-19 vaccine do not consider themselves without the need to purchase vaccines produced by other countries and benefit from national and international capacities in this field".
