President ordered start of operation of Mahabad-Urmia Railway to officially connect the centre of West Azerbaijan Province to the nationwide rail network. At the ceremony that was held on Monday during Dr Hassan Rouhani’s visit to the province, the President was briefed by the project managers on the construction process and the services to be provided. The first passenger train left Urmia for Mashhad with 160 passengers.
