The President described East Azerbaijan as a province of production, trade and export, which has many mineral, industrial and agricultural capacities, and said, "Appreciating all the efforts done before, the Popular Government is seeking to finish semi-finished projects in its provincial visits”.
Speaking upon arrival in East Azerbaijan province on Thursday morning to mark the 23rd provincial trip of the Popular Government, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi told reporters about the objectives of this trip, "With nearly 10,000 martyrs and 24,000 veterans in the Holy Defence, and the people of this province really did not hesitate to help in any area”.
The President described East Azerbaijan as a province of educated men and women who have heroically resisted coercion and hegemony and added, "East Azerbaijan is the cradle of famous people such as as Allameh Tabatabai, Allameh Amini, Ayatollah Shahid Madani and Mr Ghazi, who are role models not only for this province and our country, but also for the World of Islam”.

Semi-finished projects really hurt the people, the President said, adding, "People want the situation of the Tabriz-Miyaneh railway or the situation of leather making in the province to be organised. In this government, we do not want to start any new projects, we will only focus on completing the semi-finished projects”.
Ayatollah Raisi stated, "Our colleagues came to the province before the trip and in the meetings of the representative of the Supreme Leader in the province, the governor-general, members of parliament and managers of the province a long list of measures to be taken for East Azerbaijan has been prepared.
He said, "Today in the province and the meeting of the Administrative Council, the decisions made for East Azerbaijan and what part of the work should be done in the province and what parts should be done in Tehran will be followed, and the people will be informed”.
