Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed on Wednesday that the way to neutralize sanctions lies in reinforcing the country’s internal capabilities and scientific infrastructure, adding that the government, by relying on national elites and university experts, will not allow enemies to achieve their objectives.

Strengthening science, domestic capacity key to neutralizing sanctions: President Pezeshkian

Speaking at a meeting about Iran’s economic challenges in the current period and the strategic role of universities, President Pezeshkian said national policy is based on hope, innovation, and internal capacity. He noted that sanctions can be countered through knowledge and elite-driven strategies.

The president emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance economic resilience and manage energy imbalances, assuring that citizens’ daily lives will not be disrupted.He also highlighted progress in regional diplomacy and expanding relations with neighboring and Islamic countries.Reaffirming Iran’s political stance, President Pezeshkian stated that the country will never surrender to coercion or pressure.

According to President Pezeshkian, Iran, in accordance with the principles of international law and in pursuit of safeguarding the rights and interests of its nation, has always been ready for engagement and constructive dialogue; however, it will never accept excessive demands or imposed conditions.

Referring to the Western countries’ approach toward Iran’s nuclear file, the president stated that all their allegations regarding nuclear weapons have merely been excuses to force Tehran into submission and to impose pressure, famine, and economic collapse on the country. However, the vigilance of the people, the efforts of government officials, and the steadfastness of the Armed Forces have prevented these objectives from being realized.

President Pezeshkian added that today as well, by relying on national capacities, particularly the capabilities of academics, elites, and the country’s youth, Iran will not allow its adversaries to achieve their goals.

He stressed that, with the determination and cooperation of all sectors, the country will overcome sanctions, pressures, and imposed restrictions.He further emphasized the need to redefine the role of universities in governance and national development.

He said the government is ready to assign defined responsibilities in economic, industrial, social, and cultural sectors to universities, underlining that academic institutions can play a decisive role in solving national problems.

The president reiterated that no problem is without a solution, stating that academic and scientific communities can contribute effectively through interdisciplinary and problem-oriented approaches.

In conclusion, President Pezeshkian emphasized national unity, social cohesion, and elite participation as key to overcoming challenges, stressing that internal solidarity, regional cooperation, and academic capacity can help Iran overcome problems and continue progress and development.
