In his meeting with President Raisi, Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn, emphasised the importance of the role and position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region, and presented a report on the plans of the association to expand interactions with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Dr Raisi also stated the need to seriously pursue the goals set to expand cooperation between the Association and Iran.

The President stated that the reason for today's opposition of the domination system to the Islamic Republic of Iran is that it doesn't surrender to hegemony and stated, "Our definite policy is to develop and deepen relations with Islamic countries, and if the enemies of the Islamic Ummah are angry and upset about the good relations between Muslims, they should die with this anger because day by day the relationship between us will become more sincere, closer and stronger".

The President described Indonesia as an important country with a privileged position in South East Asia and clarified, "The development of relations between the two countries is in the interest of the Islamic world and Muslims".

Referring to the capacities available in Iran and Indonesia, the President emphasised the need to improve Tehran-Jakarta relations and said, "Despite the cruel threats and sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made great progress and has achieved capabilities that create good capacities for the development of relations between the two countries".
