During a phone call to exchange Eid al-Adha greetings on Tuesday, both presidents emphasized the continuity of diplomatic channels as the primary means to resolve long-standing tensions and foster stability.
President Pezeshkian extended his heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Egypt, wishing them prosperity and success. The Iranian president praised President Sisi’s constructive role in promoting regional stability and reiterated Iran’s firm resolve to rely on diplomatic solutions.
Iran’s principled approach is based on comprehensive convergence and cooperation with regional nations, President Pezeshkian stated, highlighting that strengthening ties with neighbors and Muslim countries, particularly in the Persian Gulf.
Addressing security concerns, the Iranian president clarified the country’s defensive positions, asserting that the Islamic Republic carried out defensive operations against regional military bases, citing its inherent right to self-defense.
He expressed optimism about moving past the current volatile situation, stating his conviction that a new era of regional partnership is unfolding, rooted in the unity of the Islamic Ummah and the rejection of foreign interference.
