Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that the most rational and nationally beneficial course of action for Iran is to complete the battlefield victory of the Armed Forces through diplomacy and to secure the Iranian people’s rights from a position of dignity and strength.

Completing Armed Forces’ victory through diplomacy rational choice in national interest: President Pezeshkian

Speaking at a meeting with the commander-in-chief and senior officers of Iran’s law enforcement force in Tehran on Monday, President Pezeshkian described the recent aggression imposed by the US and the Israeli regime as unusually complex, unjust, and asymmetric. He said Iran’s people and armed forces had thwarted the enemies’ objectives and forced them to accept a ceasefire.

He noted that Iran now faces three paths: enter negotiations with dignity and national interest, remain in a state of neither war nor peace, or continue confrontation. The rational choice, he said, is diplomacy from a position of strength, while maintaining mistrust toward the US and remaining committed to national interests.

Highlighting the government’s neighborhood-based governance approach, he said law enforcement force can play a decisive role by involving citizens in the security process and organizing public safety in a people-centered, local framework.

He further reviewed a report on the force’s performance during the recent war and stressed the need to strengthen its structure, equipment, and people-centered role in maintaining domestic security.

The president praised the law enforcement force for its round-the-clock, sincere, selfless, and responsible efforts during the recent war, noting that it played an effective, resolute, and sacrificial role in ensuring internal security.

He said his administration considers it a duty to provide all necessary support to strengthen the force, rebuild damaged facilities, and upgrade its operational and logistical capabilities.

President Pezeshkian also called for a restructuring of security and police institutions to promote decentralization, agility, broader security coverage, and improved public service. He said expert and research groups should be formed to design and implement modern models suited to the country’s conditions.
