Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian underscored the vital importance of national unity and effective programming as key elements in addressing the nation’s challenges.
During a meeting with officials and managers from the cities of Qarchak, Varamin, Pakdasht, and Pishwa in southeast Tehran Province on Thursday, President Pezeshkian advocated for sound decision-making, principled programming, and the accurate implementation of policies.
“Overcoming economic challenges and existing imbalances is achievable only through right decision-making, strategic planning, and precise policy execution. If we collaborate effectively, we can navigate these crises and pave the way for development,” the president stated.
Pezeshkian emphasized the necessity of balancing development with natural resources, noting that creating balance among resources, supply, and demand is crucial. He highlighted that the management of essential assets, including water, electricity, and gas, must be grounded in rationality and strategic programming.
Addressing the issues stemming from unbalanced development, he cautioned that growth without sound decision-making could lead the country into crises.
The president also pointed to energy imbalances in Iran, stating that one of the nation’s major challenges lies in the disproportionate consumption of water, electricity, gas, and fuel, which exceeds scientific and regional standards. He asserted that the first step must be to reduce consumption to a rational level.
He urged citizens to contribute to this effort, arguing that energy conservation could save the country between $120 billion and $150 billion annually.
In conclusion, Pezeshkian announced his administration’s commitment to decentralization by delegating more authority to provincial directors. He believes this approach will empower local officials to make more informed decisions tailored to their regions.
