Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian appointed new governor generals for the provinces of Kermanshah and Mazandaran, respectively located in the west and north of the country.
In separate decrees issued on Wednesday, President Pezeshkian appointed Monouchehr Habibi and Mehdi Younesi Rostami as the governor generals of Kermanshah and Mazandaran provinces respectively.
The two provincial officials had been picked up for the job by Minister of Interior Eskandar Momeni and had been approved by the cabinet.
The president called on the two new governor generals to work based the Constitution and general policies announced by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as well as goals of the 20-Year National Vision Document.
Pezeshkian also asked them to adhere to the ethical charter of the National Consensus Government to fulfil their duties, calling on them to use all the capacities available in their provinces to create conditions for a leap in production, increase employment, attract investment, develop economic infrastructure, and enhance order and security.
