Referring to the official admission of the Americans to the scandalous failure of the policy of maximum pressure against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the President clarified, "The conditions of Iran and Syria today is a proof of the legitimacy and correctness of the resistance and standing of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria in the face of pressure".
Speaking in a joint press conference with the President of Syria Mr Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi congratulated the success of the resistance and standing of the Syrian nation and government against the enemies, and said, "The resistance of the Syrian people against the threats and actions of Takfiri groups and the separatists who, with the support of America, Western countries and some countries in the region, were trying to divide this country and create terror, must be truly praised".
The President added, "The Syrian people stood up and resisted under the guidance of the honourable President and the Syrian government, and the people and the Syrian government should be praised for this resistance".
Dr Raisi stated that the countries that failed to achieve their nefarious goals in the military field are trying to pursue their goals in other fields, including economic pressures and sanctions, and said, "Of course, these countries will definitely fail".

Ayatollah Raisi also stated that we send greetings to the dear people of Palestine, and we honour the memory of the great Palestinian and Syrian martyrs and the honourable martyr of the resistance, Haj Qasem Soleimani, and noted, "We say to the dear Palestinians that yesterday the first and second and third intifada, and today the Palestinian resistance, is in a much better position than in the past".
The President added, "Today, the equations of the world and the world order are set in favour of the Resistance Movement and to the disadvantage of the Arrogant Movement and the Zionist Regime. Today's situation in the strength and power of the Palestinians and the weakness of the Zionist Regime and its supporters cannot be compared with any of the past years".
Dr Raisi said, "The wise leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei (may God bless him and grant him peace) emphasised resistance many times, and this is one of his clear statements that if resistance has a cost, the cost of surrender is much higher than the cost of standing and resisting".
Referring to the discrimination of international organisations and some countries in providing aid to the victims of the Syrian earthquake, the President said, "It is absolutely unacceptable for those with an awakened conscience to witness that the people affected by the earthquake in Syria are not allowed to receive the necessities of life from international organisations and from other countries".
Pointing out that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always declared in its foreign policy that it supports resistance and standing, the President clarified, "We have been -and will be- with the government and the dear people of Syria, both during the time when they faced the Takfiri groups and today that they cut off the evil hand of Takfiri groups and started rebuilding Syria".
In another part of his speech, the President referred to the negotiations between the officials of the two countries and signed cooperation documents and said, "I had talks today and documents were signed in the field of commercial, economic, political and other fields. There are many fields for the development of relations between the two countries and we are determined to develop relations between the two countries and with the countries of the region".
Ayatollah Raisi emphasised that we pursue the development of relations with the countries of the region without the presence of outsiders, and stated, "We do not consider the presence of outsiders in the region to be a security-building factor. We believe that the presence of Americans in Syria not only does not create security, but also disrupts the security of Syria and the region. The faster the Americans leave Syria, the more secure Syria will be".
Stating that we believe that the way to create security is for Syrian sovereignty to be fully established over the territorial integrity of this country, the President clarified, "Everyone should know that the establishment of Syrian sovereignty over the entire territory of this country can guarantee security in the entire region".
Dr Raisi expressed hope that the memoranda signed today between the two countries, especially in the economic and commercial fields, will be implemented as soon as possible due to the very good mutual capacities and said, "We warmly shake the hands of all the countries in the region, especially the neighbouring countries and Muslim countries, which are the foreign policy priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we strongly believe that this communication and these understandings can cut off the hands of outsiders from the region".
