Referring to the existence of more than 3,500 industrial units and 30 important research centres in Alborz province, the President stated, "Industrial and research units in the province are a symbol of ability and knowledge".
Speaking in a press conference at the end of the trip to Alborz province on Thursday evening, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi stated that we cannot slow down or stop the process of holding provincial trips, saying, "We plan to check the situation of all provinces in the shortest time and therefore, it was necessary to hold this trip".
The President further said that Alborz province has significant industrial, agricultural and tourism capacities and said, "Alborz province also receives a large number of immigrants, but the development indicators and infrastructure of this province are not commensurate with the high population growth due to migration to the province".
Dr Raisi mentioned the low per capita educational, sports and medical spaces as one of the consequences of immigration for Alborz province and added, "In today's trip, good decisions were made to develop educational spaces, complete hospitals under construction and expand medical spaces, and increase sports per capita".
Referring to his visit to the Karaj commuter rail project, the President said, "Unfortunately, this project has been running for 15 years and there is still a lot of work to be completed".
Referring to the existence of more than 3,500 industrial units and 30 important research centres in Alborz province, Ayatollah Raisi stated, "Industrial and research units in the province are a symbol of ability and knowledge that we can create a connection between them to achieve the goals of this year's slogan".
The President pointed out, "One of the sectors that has a high capacity to achieve the activities of knowledge-based companies is industrial parks, and if the promotion of the activities of industrial units in these parks is supported, a significant part of the goal of doubling the number of knowledge-based companies will be achieved".
The President also responded to a reporter's question about companies that were active in Alborz province, but whose taxes are paid in the tax area of Tehran province, saying, "I instructed the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance to review this issue with those companies".
Ayatollah Raisi, in response to another question about the government's strategies for organising immigration in Alborz province, said, "One of the most important reasons for migration is the inactivity of the economy of villages and small towns".
The president added, "Today, most of the country's villages have access to water, electricity, gas, roads and necessary sanitary facilities, but villagers and residents of small towns tend to migrate due to the inactivity of the economy in their place of residence".
Dr Raisi stated, "The government is trying to make the rural economy more active by encouraging the villagers to live in the villages by allocating the necessary facilities and applying support such as guaranteed purchase of products and increase of guaranteed purchase price. In this trip, most of the credits are intended for the agricultural sector".
