President Rouhani arrived at Zvartnots International Airport in Armenian capital, Yerevan and was welcomed by President Serzh Sargsyan.
The official invitation ceremony will be held in Armenia's presidential palace by President Sargsyan.
The visit is aimed at deepening ties and further developing cooperation with neighbouring countries and the countries of the region.
President Rouhani will meet with his Armenian counterpart in the one-day visit and discuss issues of mutual interest.
The high-ranking delegations of Iran and Armenia will all hold talks and sign cooperation documents between the two countries.
Dr Rouhani is accompanied by a number of ministers and vice-presidents.
