President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Iran’s Greco-Roman team on winning the U23 World Wrestling Championships in the United States, praising the athletes’ determination, talent and sportsmanship.
In his message on Thursday, President Pezeshkian said the Iranian wrestlers’ success on the United States’ soil, despite obstacles, demonstrated the capabilities, perseverance and champion spirit of the country’s young athletes.
He said the achievement showed that Iranian youth could prove their abilities through talent, determination, self-confidence and collective effort, adding that no boundary could prevent a nation that believes in its capabilities from shining on the international stage.
The president extended his congratulations to the champions, their coaches and technical staff, their families, and officials of the Wrestling Federation. He also expressed appreciation for everyone who had contributed to the team’s success.
President Pezeshkian voiced hope that continued support for athletes and greater opportunities for young talent would lead to further achievements for Iran and more occasions for the country’s flag to be raised at international competitions.
