Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov have discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, accelerate agreed projects and expand cooperation in political, economic and trade fields.
The two presidents met on the sidelines of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit and the Caspian Sea environmental summit in Turkmenistan on Friday.
During the meeting, President Pezeshkian and President Berdimuhamedov reviewed the latest developments in relations between Tehran and Ashgabat and exchanged views on ways to deepen cooperation across various sectors.
Both heads of state highlighted the considerable potential for expanding cooperation and emphasized the need to follow up on existing agreements, speed up the implementation of mutually agreed projects and make better use of opportunities to advance bilateral ties.
The discussions also covered regional cooperation and issues related to the Caspian Sea.
The two presidents stressed the importance of strengthening coordination among the Caspian littoral states, protecting the sea’s environment and expanding joint initiatives in ways that serve the interests of countries across the region.
