President Masoud Pezeshkian has called on Iran’s newly appointed ambassadors to promote peace, dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation with their host countries, stressing that no nation can secure its interests through excessive demands.
President Pezeshkian made the remarks on Thursday during a ceremony bidding farewell to Iran’s new ambassadors to South Korea, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and Singapore.
The president described expanding political engagement and relations with all countries as priorities and responsibilities for Iran’s ambassadors abroad. He emphasized the need for sustained efforts to broaden constructive scientific, economic and political cooperation, saying ambassadors should create the conditions for stronger bilateral ties, effective communication, security and lasting peace.
President Pezeshkian also urged the ambassadors to identify and remove obstacles hindering the development of bilateral relations and to facilitate closer cooperation between Iran and their host countries.
He stressed that foreign relations should be based on common interests and win-win principles. Iran’s approach in the international arena has always been peace-oriented and interaction-based, he said, adding that ambassadors must explain this approach globally.
No country’s interests will be secured through excessive demands, President Pezeshkian said, adding that conditions should be created in which both countries can benefit from shared interests through interaction.
Referring to the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s mission, President Pezeshkian highlighted historical lessons from the great Prophet’s efforts to resolve conflicts among Arab tribes. He noted that the Aws and Khazraj tribes had been engaged in conflict for more than a century, but the Prophet (PBUH) gradually reduced their differences and established a common framework that enabled Muslims to build a major civilization.
President Pezeshkian called on the ambassadors to serve as messengers of peace, cohesion, unity and tranquility, in line with the government’s policy of strengthening friendly relations and expanding cooperation with other nations.
During the ceremony, the five ambassadors outlined the capacities and opportunities available in their respective countries for strengthening bilateral relations.
Ahmad Erfanian, ambassador to South Korea; Mohsen Omid-Zamani, ambassador to Belarus; Sa’dollah Masoudian, ambassador to the Czech Republic; Mahmoud Safari, ambassador to Kazakhstan; and Ahmad Safaari, ambassador to Singapore, each emphasized opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in various fields.
