Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the United States must change its tone and approach toward Iran, warning that reliance on pressure and bullying would only complicate diplomatic processes.
President Pezeshkian made the remarks on Monday evening during a meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, praising Islamabad’s constructive and mediating efforts to promote regional peace and security.
The Iranian president stressed the need for Washington to honor its commitments toward Iran based on international law and said the objectives outlined in the Islamabad memorandum of understanding could be achieved through continued political will and cooperation.
President Pezeshkian also highlighted Iran’s national unity and resilience, saying the Iranian people would overcome pressure and threats by relying on their cohesion.
He further called for stronger cooperation among Islamic countries and neighbors in economic, political and security fields, describing Islamic unity as a key deterrent against Israeli plots and threats against the Muslim world.
President Pezeshkian expressed hope that Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts would contribute to greater stability, dignity and development across the region and the broader Islamic world.
Munir, for his part, thanked President Pezeshkian for his efforts to promote regional stability and emphasized the importance of carefully examining diplomatic processes to achieve shared objectives and a comprehensive agreement.
The Pakistani army chief said Islamabad would continue its role as a facilitator, stressing that the two countries’ deep historical, religious and cultural ties represented a valuable foundation for overcoming current challenges.
He added that Pakistan’s successful mediation experience could help bring the current crisis to an end and open a new chapter of broader cooperation focused on reconstruction, regional development and collective security.
