Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Pakistan’s prime minister, government and people on the neighboring country’s 79th Independence Day, describing the occasion as an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the Pakistani nation and deepen longstanding strategic ties between Iran and Pakistan.
In a message to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday, President Pezeshkian said the anniversary marks a new milestone in strengthening bilateral relations, emphasizing the deep historical, cultural, civilizational and people-to-people bonds between the two nations.
He said these longstanding ties constitute a valuable foundation for building a brighter future in bilateral relations and stressed that the shared interests and intertwined destinies of the two countries make closer cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad increasingly necessary.
The president also reaffirmed Iran’s determination to further expand comprehensive relations with Pakistan, saying Tehran is prepared to take more effective steps to consolidate bilateral ties and advance the common interests of both nations through mutual trust and respect and by utilizing their broad existing capacities.
President Pezeshkian wished Pakistan dignity, progress, prosperity and happiness, while expressing hope that the longstanding and brotherly relations between Iran and Pakistan would become stronger and more prosperous.
