Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated the country’s national artificial intelligence team on winning four medals at the third International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2026) in Kazakhstan, describing the achievement as evidence of Iran’s strong young talent in one of the world’s key emerging fields of science and technology.

In a message on Saturday, President Pezeshkian congratulated the young researchers, their families, teachers, coaches and Iran’s scientific community on their performance in the international competition, which brought together more than 400 participants from around 100 countries.
 
The president said the achievement demonstrated the remarkable capacity of Iran’s human capital and the strong position of its young talents in artificial intelligence and future technologies.
 
President Pezeshkian also highlighted the significance of the achievement amid recent imposed attacks targeting Iran’s scientific centers and technological infrastructure.
He said attempts by the country’s adversaries to disrupt Iran’s scientific progress had failed to stop young researchers from demonstrating their knowledge, creativity and determination.
 
The president also stressed the need for greater support for talented young people, expanded AI infrastructure and stronger opportunities for Iranian researchers to participate in international scientific and technological competitions.
 
He expressed hope that the team’s achievement would mark the beginning of further successes by Iranian students and researchers in global scientific competitions.
