Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated the national men's sitting volleyball team after it claimed its ninth world championship title and secured qualification for the LA28 Paralympic Games.

In a message released following Iran's victory at the 2026 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball World Championships in Hangzhou, in China, the Iranian president described the achievement as a source of national pride and another milestone in the country's sporting history. 
 
President Pezeshkian said the championship reflected the determination, perseverance, self-confidence, and outstanding capabilities of Iranian athletes, emphasizing that the team's success once again demonstrated Iran's leading position in one of its most successful Paralympic sports.
 
He extended his congratulations to the players, coaching and support staff, their families, the veterans' sports community, and the Iranian people, while expressing appreciation for everyone involved in the team's achievement.
 
The president praised the athletes for transforming challenges into opportunities through commitment and hard work.
 
He also expressed hope that the team would maintain its unity and competitive spirit as it prepares for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, where it will seek to raise Iran's flag on the international stage once again. 
 
Iran defeated Bosnia in the world championship final to capture a record ninth global title, reinforcing its status as the most successful team in the history of the sport. The victory also earned the national team a direct berth at the LA2028 Paralympic Games, extending Iran's legacy as a dominant force in international sitting volleyball.
