Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of Islamic unity during a meeting with Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in Islamabad on Tuesday.

President Pezeshkian urges Islamic unity, proposes powerful Muslim bloc

During the meeting, President Pezeshkian praised the Pakistani government, people, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the military commander for their efforts to support peace and promote mediation in the region.

The efforts of the brotherly and friendly country in supporting peace are worthy of appreciation, the Iranian president said.

Referring to Iran’s response to recent aggressions, President Pezeshkian said the Iranian government, people and Armed Forces had stood united, thwarting the objectives of their adversaries.

He stressed that Pakistan’s active role stems from its belief in the unity of the Islamic world and expressed confidence that relations between Tehran and Islamabad would witness a major transformation across various sectors.

The president also called for the creation of a strong bloc of Muslim countries to confront common challenges and strengthen solidarity among Islamic nations.

For his part, the field marshal briefed the Iranian president on recent negotiations and the signing of an agreement, while expressing appreciation for the support provided by senior Iranian officials, particularly President Pezeshkian.

Despite external pressures, he said, Pakistan believes that no Muslim country should suffer and emphasized the importance of preserving peace and cooperation within the Islamic world.

He noted that, through resilience, the Islamic Republic of Iran had delivered an important lesson to Israel and succeeded in safeguarding its rights.
