Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian congratulated the national U17 freestyle wrestling team on winning the Asian U17 Freestyle Wrestling Championships in Da Nang, Vietnam.
In a message addressed to Iran’s sports-loving nation, the wrestlers’ families, coaches and team staff on Monday, President Pezeshkian said the title confirmed the readiness and merit of the country’s next generation to bring pride in various sporting arenas and to elevate the name of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He praised the athletes’ inspiring performance and called it another golden page in the country’s sporting record.
He noted that the achievement followed Iran’s recent success in Asian youth Greco-Roman competitions, underscoring the depth of the country’s wrestling talent.
The president also expressed appreciation for the dedication of the athletes, the support and companionship of their families, and the efforts of coaches and technical staff who have helped nurture the young talents of the nation.
Pezeshkian concluded by praying for continued success, health and dignity for all Iranian youth.
