President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Iran’s U17 Greco-Roman wrestling team on its emphatic championship victory at the UWW U17 Asian Championships 2026 in Vietnam.
In a Saturday message addressed to the sports-loving nation of Iran, the athletes’ families, coaches, and officials of the national Greco-Roman wrestling team, the president praised the squad’s early and decisive triumph, describing it as a shining display of talent, determination, and capability.
President Pezeshkian said the achievement once again demonstrated the merit of Iran’s young athletes on the international stage and underscored the responsibility of all institutions, particularly the Ministry of Sports and Youth, to pay greater attention to teenage talent and provide comprehensive support for their continued progress.
He said sustained backing for promising young athletes would help ensure Iran’s continued success in future sporting events and keep the country’s name and flag proudly visible in international arenas.
The president also extended his sincere congratulations to the Iranian people, the families of the wrestlers, and the coaching staff, while wishing all the country’s young athletes greater success, dignity, and honor in the years ahead.
