Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has sent a message to his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, congratulating him and the people of Azerbaijan on the country’s Independence Day.
In his message issued on Thursday, President Pezeshkian said the two neighboring nations share deep and enduring bonds that provide a valuable foundation for expanding bilateral relations.
He stressed that Iran has consistently supported the development of ties with Azerbaijan since its independence, and welcomed a dynamic trend in relations that reflects the wishes of both peoples.
The Iranian president underlined the extensive commonalities between the two Muslim nations, citing historical and civilizational links as well as cultural, religious, and linguistic affinities. These shared roots, he noted, have helped strengthen friendship between the two sides.
President Pezeshkian also expressed hope that the current momentum, covering a broad range of bilateral, regional, and international issues, will continue with greater strength and speed in the period ahead.
Concluding his message, President Pezeshkian prayed for President Aliyev’s health and success and for the prosperity, dignity, and well-being of the people of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
