Islamic, Iranian identity form pillars preserving nation’s resilience: President Pezeshkian

In his message commemorating the anniversary of the 1979 referendum that established the Islamic Republic, President Pezeshkian described the political system as a symbol of the enduring link between Iran’s Islamic values and its national identity.

According to the president, the Islamic Republic represents the bond between Islamic and Iranian identity, two fundamental pillars that have preserved the nation’s identity in the face of threats and hostility.

He noted that this year’s Islamic Republic Day anniversary carries deeper significance following US-Israeli aggression against Iran, which he said demonstrated that adversaries remain opposed to the country’s independence, dignity, and development.

President Pezeshkian also praised the Iranian people for their patience, resistance, and solidarity, saying their steadfastness reflects the same spirit of independence and freedom that was expressed when Iranians voted to establish the Islamic Republic in 1979.

Moreover, the president thanked the public for their resilience during difficult times and said the government would rely on this popular support to pursue national priorities.

The government, drawing on this great public support, will mobilize all its capabilities to protect Iran’s independence, ensure national security, and advance the country’s development, he said.

President Pezeshkian expressed hope that continued unity among Iranians would help overcome challenges and pave the way for a stronger and more prosperous future for the country.
