President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that continued negligence and indifference toward the Israeli regime’s criminal actions in the region would expand the scope of its aggression and further destabilize the region and the world.

President Pezeshkian warns global indifference to Israeli actions will encourage further aggression

The Iranian president and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron held a phone conversation to discuss recent regional developments and the consequences of continued military attacks against Iran.

During the call, Pezeshkian said Iran had been subjected to military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime for the second time in nine months while negotiations were underway. He described the attacks as a clear violation of international law and said they should be condemned by all countries that claim to support the rule of law and human rights.

The Iranian president said responsibility for the situation lies directly with the United States and other supporters of the Israeli regime.

Pezeshkian also said that Washington and the Israeli regime of using the territory and facilities of neighboring countries to carry out attacks against Iran. He stressed that the Islamic Republic is determined to fully defend its territorial integrity and national sovereignty.

Referring to rising tensions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, President Pezeshkian said no country is more concerned about regional stability than Iran, adding that the conflict imposed by the United States and the Israeli regime has disrupted maritime security and navigation in the strategic waterway.

He also criticized the failure of some European officials to acknowledge the root cause of current tensions, warning that ignoring violations of international law could undermine global legal norms.

President Macron, for his part, congratulated the Iranian government and people on Nowruz, Persian New Year, and wished them peace, stability and prosperity.

The French president said Paris has condemned the attacks against Iran and added that France is ready to take any initiative that could help restore the path of diplomacy.

The two presidents also discussed several issues of mutual interest, including bilateral and consular matters.
