President Pezeshkian has warned that the United States and the Israeli regime are pursuing policies aimed at weakening and fragmenting major Islamic countries.

Pezeshkian: US, Israel seeking to fragment Islamic nations; Iran backs regional unity initiatives

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el‑Sisi held a phone conversation on Friday to discuss regional and international developments following US and Israeli aggression against Iran.

During the call, the Iranian president urged Islamic nations to remain vigilant against efforts to sow division within the Muslim world, stressing that countries in the region should not allow external powers to undermine unity and stability.

President Pezeshkian said Iran had been engaged in diplomatic efforts when it was again subjected to military attacks, arguing this showed Washington was not seeking a genuine resolution. He added that Iran has no dispute with Islamic countries, calling them brothers, while asserting that Tehran’s actions are based on its right to self‑defense.

He also welcomed any initiative by regional countries to strengthen cooperation, restore stability, and promote peace, noting that millions of Iranians participated in International Quds Day rallies despite security threats.

President el‑Sisi, for his part, expressed condolences over the loss of Iranian lives and reaffirmed Egypt’s opposition to war, instability, and insecurity in the region.
