President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s deep respect for all regional countries and stability in the West Asia region but warned that any attack launched from US military bases stationed in the region against Iran would be absolutely unacceptable.

Iran, Oman stress need for regional stability

In a phone conversation with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman, President Pezeshkian thanked Oman for its constructive role in regional diplomacy and its efforts to reduce tensions. He noted that the aggression occurred while Iran was engaged in indirect negotiations with the United States.

The two sides discussed recent regional developments following military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, as well as the broader regional and international consequences.

According to the Iranian president, the escalation resulted in significant human and infrastructure losses. He pointed to an incident in which 168 students were killed in an attack on a school in Minab, describing it as evidence that the attackers disregarded international and humanitarian principles.

Despite the tensions, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran values relations with neighboring countries and prioritizes expanding cooperation across the region. However, he warned that attacks launched from US military bases stationed in regional states would not be tolerated.

Addressing reports regarding a strike on Oman’s Port of Salalah, the president said the Islamic Republic remains committed to strengthening relations with its neighbors, particularly Oman, and that Iranian military responses target only locations directly involved in attacks against Iran.

Sultan Haitham reaffirmed Oman’s positive stance toward Iran and stressed the importance of regional cooperation to preserve stability and prevent further escalation.
