Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei following his selection as the third Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the Assembly of Experts.
In a message issued after the decision, Pezeshkian described the move as a wise and decisive choice that would usher in a new period of strength and dignity for the Iranian nation.
With faith in the divine promises, the blessed election as the third Leader of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic, through the decisive and wise vote of the members of the Assembly of Experts, will herald a new era of dignity and power for the Iranian nation, the president emphasized.
President Pezeshkian said the election reflects the will of the Islamic community to strengthen national unity.
This valuable choice is a manifestation of the will of the Islamic Ummah to consolidate national unity, which helped this nation to stand like a strong barrier against the conspiracies of enemies, he noted.
The president also praised the legacy of the martyred Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, saying his achievements in safeguarding the Islamic Republic had laid a strong foundation for the country’s future.
With the new leadership, Iran will reach a bright horizon of lasting independence, scientific and technological progress, and comprehensive development, President Pezeshkian added.
He further expressed hope that, through unity, public participation, and the efforts of Iranian elites and youth, the country would overcome current challenges and continue on the path of progress.
