Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued a message of condolence following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, describing the killing as a historic crime and an open declaration of war against Muslims, particularly Shia community around the world.
In his statement, President Pezeshkian characterized the attack as one of the gravest trials facing the Islamic world. He said the late Leader’s 37 years of guidance had ensured the continuation of the path established by Imam Khomeini, strengthening Iran’s position as an axis of independence and resistance.
The president praised Ayatollah Khamenei’s leadership, citing his resolve, prudence, and commitment to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution. Pezeshkian described the late leader as a symbol of dignity and perseverance whose legacy would endure in contemporary history.
He further declared that avenging the assassination is both an inalienable right and a fundamental duty of the Islamic Republic. Iran, he vowed, will pursue this objective with unwavering resolve and full capability.
Extending condolences to the Iranian people and the broader Islamic community, the president reaffirmed his commitment to unity, solidarity, and the continuation of what he described as the revolution’s core principles of justice and freedom.
