President Pezeshkian urges Iranian envoys to translate political ties into economic cooperation

Speaking Tuesday at a ceremony ahead of the departure of Iran’s new ambassadors to Lebanon and Algeria, President Pezeshkian underlined the need to fully utilize existing capacities to deepen bilateral relations. He noted that while Iran enjoys favorable political relations with many countries, economic cooperation often lags behind and must be strengthened.

The president highlighted the key role of Iranian embassies in advancing economic diplomacy, facilitating trade, identifying investment opportunities, activating transit capacities, and expanding scientific and technological cooperation. Good political relations should lead to sustainable economic benefits for both nations, he said.

President Pezeshkian also stressed that expanding cooperation with friendly states, particularly in the region and the Islamic world, would help promote shared interests, regional stability, and broader economic integration.

Referring to the significant economic, energy, trade, cultural, and scientific potential of Lebanon and Algeria, he called for proactive planning and continuous follow-up by diplomatic missions.

At the ceremony, Mohammad-Reza Raouf Sheibani and Nasser Kanaani reaffirmed their commitment to prioritizing economic cooperation alongside strengthening political relations during their missions.
