President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized the importance of transport and transit capacities in strengthening economic relations between Iran and Kyrgyzstan.
Speaking Tuesday at the credential ceremony of Kyrgyzstan’s new ambassador Akylbek Kylichev, President Pezeshkian reaffirmed Tehran’s determination to deepen ties with neighboring countries, particularly Kyrgyzstan.
He said the two countries’ geopolitical positions and transit corridors provide strong foundations for boosting trade volumes and economic cooperation.
The president underlined the role of ambassadors in promoting cultural, political, economic, scientific, and technological exchanges, noting that active diplomacy can translate shared interests into tangible cooperation.
President Pezeshkian also stressed the need to fully utilize regional mechanisms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), describing them as golden opportunities to expand regional interactions, enhance trade, and advance multilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Kylichev conveyed greetings from President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, and pledged to use all available capacities to further develop bilateral relations.
He also formally invited President Pezeshkian to attend the upcoming SCO summit, to be hosted by Kyrgyzstan later this year.
