On the sidelines of President Pezeshkian’s meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana on Thursday, the two sides visited the exhibition.

The exhibition, aimed at highlighting the cultural, political, and civilizational relations between Iran and the eastern and northeastern regions, displayed a variety of historical documents. These included manuscripts, historical correspondence, old maps, official documents, and periodic reports that underscore the significance of the Syr Darya region and the Kazakh Khanates in shaping the historical relations between the two nations.

During the visit, exhibition experts provided detailed explanations on Iran’s historical presence in Central Asia, its administrative and cultural roles, and the region's importance in the Silk Road exchanges. They also highlighted the long-standing connections between the people of Syr Darya and the Iranian lands, with special focus on the deep linguistic, cultural, and economic ties that have existed for centuries.
