President Masoud Pezeshkian appointed Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the former Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), as his special representative and head of the Headquarters for the Advancement of National and Strategic Projects.

The appointment was announced in a decree by President Pezeshkian on Wednesday. The president highlighted the need to remove barriers that hinder the effective participation of all citizens, including Iranian expatriates, as well as domestic and foreign investors. 

Pezeshkian expressed his expectation that the capacities of the populace, particularly the elite community, would be harnessed to achieve the goals of the headquarters.

In his decree, the president acknowledged Ahmadian's qualifications and valuable experience in his previous role within the Supreme National Security Council.

Pezeshkian expressed hoped that, relying on Almighty God and in line with the directives of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ahmadian will endeavor to lead and utilize the governing institutions and the capabilities of the headquarters to effectively and appropriately advance expected projects.

The president also said that the unity of the two wings of the government and the nation, the removal of obstacles to the effective presence and participation of all people, Iranians abroad, and both domestic and foreign investors, as well as the flourishing and realization of the capacities of the people, especially the elite community of the country, in achieving the overarching goals of the headquarters, are among his main expectations.

Pezeshkian added that it is evident that all relevant development agencies are required to cooperate fully with the newly appointed head of the headquarters, emphasizing that a list of national and strategic projects will be communicated as an annex to this decree.
