President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the crucial role of the parliaments of Iran and Pakistan in enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
During his visit to Pakistan, President Pezeshkian met with Senate Chairman Yusuf Raza Gilani and National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at the President's residence on Sunday.
Reflecting on the productive meetings and constructive discussions with Pakistani officials during his two-day official visit, the Iranian president stated, “We are committed to strengthening our relations with Pakistan across all areas. The parliaments of both countries play a vital role in facilitating the approval of supportive legislation, and they have a significant mission in this regard. We believe they will assist the governments in this endeavor.”
President Pezeshkian also expressed gratitude for the Senate's resolution and the National Assembly's support for Iran during the terrorist aggression of the Israeli regime, describing it as a testament to the historical brotherhood between the peoples of Iran and Pakistan.
He further condemned the crimes of the Israeli regime in Palestine, and its destabilizing actions in the region. He acknowledged the positions of the parliament, government, and people of Pakistan, underscoring the importance of parliamentary cooperation in this context.
The chairmen of the Senate and National Assembly of Pakistan warmly welcomed the Iranian president and his delegation, highlighting their parliaments' support for Tehran during the aggression of the Israeli regime and the United States against Iran.
They reiterated the strong commitment of Pakistani lawmakers to enhance political, economic, and cultural relations between the two nations, noting that there are robust ties with the Iranian Parliament at both the bilateral level and in international and regional forums.
